Shopify Speed Optimization & Core Web Vitals

A slow store quietly loses sales and rankings. I find what's actually dragging your Shopify or WordPress site down — images, apps, scripts, theme code — fix it properly, and show you the before-and-after numbers.

Questions Clients Ask

Straight answers, before you message me

How do you improve a Shopify store's PageSpeed score?

I start with a real audit — PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse and Chrome's field data — then fix what actually moves the numbers: the hero/LCP image, oversized images, render-blocking theme scripts, app scripts and leftover code from uninstalled apps, third-party pixels, fonts and layout shift. You get a before/after comparison, not just a claim that it's "faster." Read why mobile scores are low and how they're fixed →

What are Core Web Vitals, and do they matter for ecommerce?

Core Web Vitals are Google's three user-experience metrics: LCP (how quickly the main content loads, good is 2.5 seconds or less), INP (how quickly the page responds to taps, good is 200 milliseconds or less) and CLS (how much the layout jumps, good is 0.1 or less). They're a Google ranking signal, and they track with conversion because shoppers leave slow, jumpy pages.

How fast can you speed up my store?

Many speed fixes are quick jobs — one Fiverr client reviewed a Shopify speed optimization completed in 24 hours with the results they expected. Bigger stores with many apps, custom theme code or heavy sliders take longer. I'll tell you which camp you're in after the audit.

Will removing apps break my store?

Not when it's done carefully. I audit every app and script, find what's actually used, and remove or replace only what isn't — including the code that uninstalled apps often leave behind in the theme. Changes are made on a duplicate theme and tested before they go live.

Do you also speed up WordPress, Elementor and WooCommerce sites?

Yes. The same audit-first approach applies: caching and hosting setup, image optimization, plugin and add-on cleanup, Elementor settings and DOM size, fonts and Core Web Vitals. See my Elementor speed guide →

Can you guarantee a PageSpeed score of 90+ or 100?

No honest developer can — scores vary run to run, and stores with many essential apps rarely hit 100. What I can promise is a measured improvement, a plain explanation of what changed and why, and a focus on the metrics real customers feel: LCP, INP and CLS on a real phone.
